A radially adaptive numerical scheme is developed to solve the Grad–Shafranov equation for axisymmetric magnetohydrodynamic equilibrium. decomposition with independent solutions employed in radial direction, and Fourier used poloidal direction. The are then obtained using an shooting together multi-region matching technique Accordingly, toroidal equilibrium (ATEQ) code constructed studies. direction improves considerably accuracy of solution. effectively reduces matrix size solving problem. reduction about order magnitude as compared conventional grid-based schemes. Also, this ATEQ scheme, no matter how imposed, matrices basically does not change. small gives more flexibility address requirement number components tough problems. These two unique features, size, make useful improve tokamak solutions.
